Asking for it
Questions are a great way to “go viral,” as each question has up to one hundred options for answers. It’s an excellent way to get your name out there and to get people really interested and “voting” about a topic.Tips for creating good questions:
- Make them easy to understand and answer
- Include your page name in the question where appropriate
- Make the topic something people get passionate about (football teams for example)
- Unless it’s a yes/no, leave the options open for others to add answers.
- Make it a conversation between any two people – Do you want me to….etc
- Make them something others will want to pass on and get their likers voting about – “Who is the best graphic designer in Austin?”
- Get the kids talking. Teenagers spread your message faster than anyone else, so if your product is teen-friendly, talk to the kids!
5.Caring is sharing – especially on Facebook
Increasing your number of shares can be done in lots of ways:- When posting useful or helpful info, always finish the status with – if you found this helpful, please hit the share!
- Post a variety of media – video, photos, links, info-graphics, commentary – get them interested!
- Post information that is highly relevant to other businesses and their likers – such as Facebook changes, available funding opportunities, etc.
- Post in-depth information about topical news items as they happen – everyone can post “Celebrity has died” but it’s easier to click share on a link or long, informative status.
- Save and upload funny stuff you find on the internet. Stumble Upon will give you endless opportunities. If you save it to your computer and then upload, you get the author credit in the share!
- Run competitions (check Facebook’s comprehensive rules on how to do this) and encourage others to share to win.
- Share other’s information frequently, to encourage them to reciprocate
- Post about your recent blog articles
- Create an app such as a quiz – be sure to include your branding!
- Publicise likers’ and network buddies recent blog articles
- Give mention to other pages in your newsletter or blog. Mention this in your status while tagging them – with luck, they’ll share it with their likers.
- Offer genuinely engaging content and it’ll come together easily!
